About Jan and Tony's Pizza

In September of 1991, when my husband, Bob Isennagle, and I purchased Jan's Pizza, located behind the old Shell Oil Station in Plain City, Ohio, it manifested our dream of being business owners in an industry well familiar to Bob. The combination of great food and great service has richly rewarded us in many ways.

In 1996, we embarked upon an even greater journey when we acquired our biggest competitor, Little Tony's Pizza, long owned by the DeMatteo family. The next two years challenged us to operate both pizza shops independently while maintaining their inherited menus and recipes.

Continued talk of the proposed by-pass for State Route 42 around the village at its west end prompted us to evaluate the continued use of the original Jan's Pizza location from the perspective of the potential for future growth. As with any business, the phrase - "Location! Location! Location!" - is an important indicator when making decisions. Certainly, future growth of the village will result with an increase of traffic associated with the proposed by-pass. Little Tony's Pizza was purchased with the intention of satisfying the need for such growth.

On July 4, 1998, the move was completed! Jan's Pizza now shared a building with Little Tony's Pizza, and Jan & Tony's Pizza was born.

As the Village of Plain City continues to expand, we are ready to meet the needs of our new neighbors who join us each day. A continued commitment to provide excellent food, excellent service, and absolutely the best value for your dollar, is at the heart of our business. We believe that by doing right by our neighbors, our customers, and our crew, we will reap the benefits of community support.
